Concepts and terminology
As every project there are some terms that you will have to understand. We try and use terms that are obvious and ensure that we document it well so you don't feel left alone. OK here we go, there are not too many so don't worry:
Master
A master is the initial LiveCD iso image you plan to base your project on. MyLiveCD does not currently support building LiveCDs from scratch, but is certainly something we will consider in the future.
Re-master
Re-master is a modified ISO produced by MyLiveCD. It contains the changes made to your Master ISO. A single project can have as many re-mastered ISOs as the developer requires.
Method
The Method refers to the format the Master LiveCD has been mastered with. For example the Kanotix method uses the SquashFS functions to compress the chroot environment. Morphix and Knoppix use other functions such as Cloop.
Build
A build is the uncompressed chroot environment of your Remastered ISO.
Project
A project is an encapsulation of Remastered ISOs, builds and meta information. It represents all the data involved for producing a re-mastered image. Projects must always have a LiveCD Method assigned to them.
